GAC Norway Supports Milestone Offshore Wind Project

Oppdatert: 22. nov.

In a significant development for Norway's renewable energy sector, GAC Norway is currently supporting the specialized offshore vessel Dina Polaris in Stavanger. As ship agents for this important project vessel, we're proud to be part of what industry leaders are calling a historic moment in Norwegian offshore wind.

A Major Milestone for Norwegian Offshore Wind

The Dina Polaris is preparing for crucial geotechnical surveys at the Southern North Sea II (Sørlige Nordsjø II) project site.

This groundbreaking development includes:

  • 80-100 wind turbines planned

  • Power capacity of 1.5 gigawatt

  • Future annual production of 7-8 TWh - equivalent to 5-6% of Norway's total energy needs

  • Location: 200 kilometers off the Agder coast

  • Average water depth of 60 meters

GAC Norway's Role

Our team is providing comprehensive ship agency support during the vessel's stay in Stavanger, as it prepares for approximately two months of work in the North Sea.

Our services include:

  • Port and husbandry services

  • Crew logistics coordination

  • Customs clearance

  • Vessel documentation

  • Procurement including sourcing and delivering vital equipment, spare parts, and supplies

The development is being carried out by Ventyr, owned by Belgian Parkwind and Dutch Ingka, with NorSea as industrial partner.
